My inspiration of the month is Clayco Structural Engineer Keiko DeClerck!
Every year, I have a fellow selected from our lead interns and first-year employees to attend mentoring sessions, Monday presentations, and client and employee meetings. Last year, Keiko was chosen to be mentored by me –and she also mentored me in return!
Any mentorship aims to enrich the personal and professional lives of both participants involved, and the most rewarding part about being a mentor is developing a new perspective that only speaking with the next generation can lend.
Kieko joined Clayco with an impressive resume. Before joining us as a Structural Engineer in September 2022, Keiko interned and worked at Bechtel Corporation. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Princeton University where she displayed leadership and courage as a co-captain for the Ice Hockey team over the course of her four-year career!
This past weekend, she completed the 2023 New York City Marathon - something I can hardly imagine accomplishing!
For the past year, I've been impressed by Keiko's incredible leadership promise. I'm super proud of the effort she's contributed and to be working with her - way to go, Keiko!
