It is with a heavy heart that I would like to pay my respects to Edward “Tee” Turner Baur's life and legacy. Tee was a very successful real estate expert who gave me great encouragement and advice over the years. We both shared the same hometown of St. Louis and a love for outdoor athletics and hiking. Tee was a remarkable individual who left an indelible mark on all who knew him, with a passionate and enduring commitment to others.
Tee graduated from St. Louis Country Day School and continued his education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he played soccer, participated in NROTC, and joined the Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He also served as a Navy supply officer in Adak, Alaska, before returning home to his family and building an impressive career as a respected commercial developer. His work shaped the city’s landscape and beyond, and he participated in various advisory councils and boards while mentoring future generations.
He was one of those rare individuals who managed to excel in everything he did while staying grounded in what truly mattered. As a developer, Tee was a force to be reckoned with—sharp, strategic, and innovative. He had a way of elevating those around him, whether you were on his team or across the table. Tee taught me a lot about business but even more about how to balance ambition with heart.
Tee’s greatest pride, though, was his family: his love for his wife Michele, their three children, 11 grandchildren, and a great-grandchild. It was clear that his family was his happiest legacy! Tee’s memory will continue to inspire us to lead with the same grace and purpose that he stood for. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who were fortunate to share in his amazing journey.
Rest in peace, Tee – you will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
