Illumination 2024: Uniting Chicago for Rare Disease Research

The IMPACT we can have on communities is limitless – especially when we are united for a common cause!

Chicago’s premier Halloween gala, Illumination, is not just a celebration but a powerful platform to raise hope. The event is taking the city by storm on October 26th at Moonlight Studios to raise money and awareness for rare diseases. Proceeds from Illumination support Penn Medicine’s RVCL Research Center, led by Jonathan Miner, MD, PhD., which partners with patients, physicians, and scientists worldwide to lead cutting-edge research toward a cure for RVCL and other unique conditions.

Since it began in 2016, Illumination has raised an impressive $9.8 million, with nearly $1.2 million in 2023 alone. These funds have had a profound impact on rare disease communities, providing critical support, advancing research, and offering hope to countless individuals and families. Each contribution brings us one step closer to life-changing breakthroughs and a brighter future for those affected by rare diseases.

Now, we want YOU to be a part of this amazing accomplishment and lasting legacy. Together, we can uplift those impacted by rare diseases by advancing medical knowledge and paving the way for ongoing research in all genetic orphan diseases. So get dressed up in your favorite costume for a fun evening of live music and performances, art installations, and outstanding philanthropic efforts.
