What if gender equality wasn’t just a goal, but the way things are? At Clayco, we believe in turning this vision into action by fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion across everything we do.
International Women’s Day (IWD) has been a global movement for over a century, advocating for gender equality and celebrating women’s achievements. But despite the progress made, we still have a long way to go – especially in industries like construction. According to a 2024 report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, women make up just 11.2% of the construction sector. This is despite the fact that women account for nearly half of all employed people in the country.
We must work to foster environments where the talent and potential of ALL people are recognized, and differences are valued and celebrated. IWD is much more than just a day. It is a call to Accelerate Action, which is the 2025 theme! Clayco is committed to closing the gender gap year-round, and one of the ways we’re working to do so is through Clayco Network of Women (NOW).
This International Women’s Day, we celebrate the impact of Clayco NOW, our internal movement driving female leadership in construction, design, and real estate. Through mentorship, networking, and job site tours, we’re not just opening doors—we’re ensuring women see their impact firsthand. During Women in Construction Week this year, we embraced the theme “Together We Rise” with panels, site tours, and networking events that empower the next generation. Clayco understands that building an inclusive future means going both inside and Beyond These Walls to support each other.
According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2024, it will take 134 years to reach gender equality. By expanding access to STEM education, fostering inclusive workplaces, closing the pay gap, and championing female leadership, we can create real change. When we empower women, we strengthen the world.
Let’s build an equitable future TOGETHER!
