St. Louis has always been a city of immense history and untapped potential. Our neighborhoods, culture, and legacy have the foundation to thrive, but for too long, poor leadership and mismanagement have stood in the way of progress. It’s frustrating to see the city I care so deeply about suffer from missed opportunities. I spoke with Sarah Fenske on The 314 Podcast about my thoughts surrounding the city’s various issues that must be resolved quickly to cultivate a brighter future for all St. Louisans.
When I look around, I see a city that could be the next Kansas City or Nashville — vibrant, growing, and full of life. But instead, we find ourselves stuck. Businesses are leaving, residents are packing up, and the challenges we face seem only to grow. As someone who has built a hands-on career in construction, I know that success doesn’t come from sitting on the sidelines. It takes strategic thinking and a willingness to get in the dirt and solve problems.
That’s why I believe in Cara Spencer. She understands what makes St. Louis special, and she’s ready to roll up her sleeves and lead with the urgency and intelligence we need. Cara recognizes the city’s strong bones, and she has the vision and determination to put the right strategies in place to build on that foundation. If Spencer is elected, I hope to make a significant investment with some of the region’s top companies and make a stand in the city in a single building.
This move would be a powerful way to show we’re all in it together, working to breathe new life into the city, boost the economy, and open up opportunities for the people who live here. We need to send a clear message that we’re committed to rebuilding, backing local businesses, and creating a stronger, more inclusive community. Real change happens when leaders step up and work side by side.
My conversation with Fenske dives deeper into these concerns and the future I envision for St. Louis. We talked about what it means to lead effectively and why now, more than ever, we need leaders who listen, understand, and act. I’ve had the privilege of working on projects across 45 different St. Louis communities, and I see firsthand what works and what doesn’t. The status quo is NOT working.
It’s time for all of us to work together to row the boat in the same direction. St. Louis deserves a mayor who is committed to making our city safer, stronger, and more prosperous for everyone. Cara Spencer is that leader.
