October has definitely been an eventful month for me as well as for Clayco as a whole. While I’ve been keeping busy at 2020 Expo Dubai in my new role as Commissioner General at the USA Pavilion, Clayco’s teams have been hard at work in the field on some exciting new projects while getting more and more recognition for our excellence and service. There’s definitely a lot to share with everyone, but here are just some of the highlights to get up-to-date on what we’ve been up to at Clayco lately.
We just topped Building Design and Construction’s Top 100 Industrial Facility Contractors and CM Firms list, and it’s a huge accomplishment for Clayco. BD+C’s recent recognition confirms that we’re the best when it comes to what we do, and it’s a big win for all of the teams who helped make it possible. We also ranked #6 on ENR’s Top 100 Green Contractors and #2 in Top 5 Green Contractors in Manufacturing & Industrial lists, proving that we’re moving full speed ahead when it comes to promoting more sustainable building practices.
One of our latest projects is also starting to take shape. Our new crane just went up at The Standard at Columbia, which will become a 17-story student housing tower in Columbia, South Carolina. Every time a Clayco crane goes up, it’s a reason to celebrate, since I believe our cranes represent a lot of the hard work, determination, and bold commitment to progress that we bring to everything we build.
We also just completed construction on two Amazon facilities in Wilmington, Delaware. Together these two buildings equal over 4 million square feet and will serve our client’s customers throughout the northeast. And we’ve also announced that our Residential Business Unit headquarters will now be out of our Phoenix office as part of our efforts to take advantage of the booming growth in this key market.
Clayco also took time in October to mark the importance of Hispanic Heritage Month. We think it is crucial to share the incredible and inspiring stories of the Latinx and Hispanic communities with everyone at Clayco and beyond, and this month also serves to remind us of how our diversity has helped us accomplish so much together as a team.
I can’t wait to see everything Clayco will accomplish in November. Stay tuned for more updates to come.
