Taylor Excavating & Wrecking Inc.

Taylor Excavating is a family-run business that has served Chicago and its surrounding suburbs since 2002. Its team is highly specialized in heavy equipment and works hard to provide clients with safe and cost-effective demolition and excavation services.

The company has partnered with Clayco on a couple of multi-family development projects in Chicago, including Upshore Chapter in the historic Uptown neighborhood and A.M. 1980 Residences near Bucktown and Wicker Park. Upshore Chapter is a 12-story glass tower containing 149 apartments and 5,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space, while A.M. 1980 Residences is a 120,000-square-foot structure featuring 132 units.

The company also partnered on the demolition at One Fulton – a venture of Clayco, CRG, and Shapack Partners that aims to transform the almost one-and-a-half acre site at 170 N. Green St. with a tower including 275 apartments, office space, a hotel, and other commercial uses. The site is located in the Fulton Market neighborhood and is one of the most attractive areas in the city for developers.

Taylor Excavating also donated equipment for Clayco’s annual Kid’s Dig. This unique fundraiser promoted wellness for the children while sparking their imagination and interest in the world of building. The event offered young patients at Lurie Children's Hospital and their families the opportunity to check out and operate (with assistance) a variety of heavy machinery. It was a great turnout, with over 100 kids joining throughout the day for interactive activities and exploring rollers, bulldozers, excavators, and telehandlers in a giant sandbox!

The Taylor Excavating team has helped us make a great impact on our projects, and I look forward to our continued collaboration.
