We’ve been hard at work recently on a lot of projects in Phoenix, including The Cubes at Glendale, Preflight Phoenix, and a new project with Scannell Properties that we broke ground on in April. It’s a rapidly expanding market that we’re really interested in contributing to, and it’s all part of our growth plan to build out our Southwest book of business in the coming months.
We also just began construction on a new 26-story residential tower in downtown Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row Arts District. Skye on 6th is scheduled to be completed in 2023, and it will feature 309 apartments, 6,500-square-feet of ground-level retail space, and a 78,000-square-foot parking garage with 201 spaces. With a wellness-focused design in accordance with LEED Silver certification standards, it’s going to be a terrific addition to the city.
With all of this increase in business in the Southwest, we’re establishing a Phoenix office as we continue to expand westward, and it marks our second market expansion since the opening of our new offices in Los Angeles and Orange County in May. The leadership team in Phoenix will include Kim Poole as Vice President of Economic Development, Bryan Zehnder as Vice President of Operations, and Lindsay Johnson as Project Executive.
To date, Clayco has over $300 million in active construction projects in the Phoenix market, and we have completed over 3.3 million square feet of corporate, industrial manufacturing, distribution, and e-commerce facilities in the Phoenix area. It’s a city that has benefitted from some big investments in the local economy, and it’s an exciting time to watch how it’s constantly adapting and changing as its population increases.
Phoenix is an exciting place that we see as full of opportunities with a huge potential for growth, and I’m looking forward to completing even more projects there in the future.
