Topping Out Ray Phoenix and Redefining Urban Living

We’ve hit new heights on Roosevelt Row!

Ray Phoenix, a 26-story multi-family building in Phoenix’s Roosevelt Row Arts District, is officially topped out. As the first of possibly three integrated high-rise towers, the 523,000-square-foot complex houses 401 residential units and exemplifies “desert modernism” by taking inspiration from the region’s extreme sun and dry landscape.

This development was a collaborative effort to redefine urban living in the heart of Arizona’s capital city with Clayco, Lamar Johnson Collaborative, co-developers Ray and VeLa, MEP Engineer Paul Koehler, Johnston Marklee, Grace Fuller Design, and Parts and Labor Design. Together, we’ve built a bold vision for the future — a place where people no longer have to choose between extraordinary amenities and a prime location. Here, they can have it all at an affordable price, with smart, efficient design. Ray Phoenix offers a way for multifamily living spaces that elevate everyday life.

Creating quality architecture requires integrating the Art & Science of Building into every step of the design/build process, which our teams prioritize every time. The residential tower offers the region’s most comprehensive amenity packages, including a street-level art gallery open to the public and a lobby mural by the acclaimed multimedia artist Alex Israel. We want residents to experience the richness of the building’s story.

Ray Phoenix aims to be a hub of living and gathering for diverse artists, entrepreneurs, and creatives to express themselves. The building will feature ample space for connection, such as a fitness center, yoga studio, outdoor pool, communal kitchen, fireplace lounge, theater, dog-washing stations, gardens, and workspaces. Ray Phoenix will elevate the resident experience by integrating impactful design with functional amenities, all within a prime downtown location.

Whether it’s the floor-to-ceiling windows with mountain and skyline views, the 4,500 square feet of ground-level retail, or the passionate artwork, Ray Phoenix will have an edge over the typical apartment building that it will hand back to its renters in countless ways.

I’m proud of our teams for continuing to push the limits of creativity and imagination!
