PsiQuantum Chicago Campus is Building the Future of Tech

The answers to some of the greatest mysteries of the universe may be at our fingertips, thanks to quantum computing!

My recent visit to Palo Alto, California, was filled with incredible people, spaces, and knowledge. I walked around the Stanford University Campus and sat in the Memorial Church, contemplating life’s building blocks – which humans are attempting to uncover using quantum computing as scale.

Clayco is proud to partner with Related Midwest and our designers at LJC to deliver the Palo Alto-based company, PsiQuantum, Quantum Campus on the former USX site on the South Side of Chicago. This project is a tremendous milestone in ensuring the city’s future as a global hub for Quantum Computing, and our Clayco team will deliver the facility at scale and high speed.

PsiQuantum is a corporate partner of the Chicago Quantum Exchange that connects leading universities, national labs, and industry partners to advance quantum technology and is based at the University of Chicago. The company is building the first U.S.-based, utility-scale, fault-tolerant quantum computer. Clayco is thrilled to have a hand in constructing the site, which covers 120 connected acres within a 440-acre property, making it one of the largest waterfront properties available for development in the country.

As PsiQuantum sets up a base to build and operate quantum computers in Chicago, it will also bring as many as 150 jobs in the next five years, helping to stimulate the economy further and make a positive impact BEYOND the walls of the establishment. We at Clayco are committed to delivering a world-class project that exceeds expectations, and this facility will play a key role in advancing quantum computing and improving the communities where we operate.

I would like to thank PsiQuantum Chief Operating Officer Fariba Danesh and Executive VP of Operations Monier Nessim for enlightening me on all the incredible aspects of the company and mission, as well as giving me an inside look at the amazing technology coming to life in front of our eyes.

I’m grateful for the leadership that has made this economic growth opportunity possible, and I can’t wait to witness the boundless potential of quantum computing as it unfolds and reshapes Chicago’s leadership in quantum partnerships, research, and infrastructure across the nation.

Let’s keep driving technology and innovation forward!
