Honoring the Extraordinary Philanthropy of Susan and Bob Wislow

Jane and I would like to congratulate our amazing friends Susan and Bob Wislow, who recently received the Distinguished Philanthropists Award at the 48th Annual Philanthropy Awards!

Hosted by the Association of Fundraising Professionals Chicago earlier this month, Susan and Bob were honored for their decades-long dedication to uplifting the Chicago community through their generous support of various causes.

Susan and Bob’s contributions to the Chicagoland area and beyond have positively impacted countless lives. Susan’s work as a founder of Corporate Relocation Coordinators, along with her roles on the boards of the Erikson Institute, Goodman Theatre Women’s Board, and Chicago Children's Museum, has helped advance education and the arts. A former elementary school physical education teacher in Chicago Public Schools, Susan’s passion for nurturing young minds and enriching the community has been unwavering for over three decades. Her influence is felt across the community, where she is celebrated as a unifier and an advocate who brings out the best in others.

Bob’s legacy is equally inspiring. Since co-founding U.S. Equities Realty in 1978—once Chicago’s largest, privately-owned commercial real estate services firm—Bob transformed the sector through the company’s ongoing development and growth. Following the firm’s merger with CBRE in 2014, Bob served as CBRE Chicago Chairman until 2019. Beyond his professional achievements, Bob’s contributions extend deeply into civic life, where he serves  as the Chairman of the Chicago Public Library Foundation, the Rush University Board, the Museum of Contemporary Photography, and as Board Member of Columbia College Chicago, where he continues to drive positive change. His active involvement on various Executive Committees across the city exemplifies his commitment to Chicago’s growth and well-being.

Bob and Susan’s continuous commitment to giving back is something that resonates with me, especially as Clayco strives to make an impact “Beyond these Walls”. Their work underscores the transformative power of leadership, dedication, and generosity—qualities that enrich and inspire us all.

Susan and Bob, it’s an honor to have both of you as our mentors. Thank you!
