Chewy is leading the charge with advanced automated fulfillment centers designed to revolutionize the customer experience and contribute to improved output and operational efficiency. At Clayco, our industrial team is passionate about delivering high-quality projects with cutting-edge technology that empower our partners with the tools and resources to navigate an evolving marketplace. Chewy’s CEO, Sumit Singh, noted that their fulfillment centers, paired with an improved supply chain tool, helped handle the company’s highest order period during the holiday peak in late November. This is great news for pet parents and their furry friends nationwide, who received their toys and treats on time and without issue!
Automation and advanced tech are becoming further intertwined in our industries and communities to bring productivity and refinement to the next level. Companies must adapt to stay ahead of the curve of competition and keep customers satisfied. As of now, less than half of Chewy’s distribution center volumes are processed through automation. However, it hopes to eventually increase to have over 70% of its volumes fulfilled using automated processes (something we can expect to see more of across various organizations).
