Clayco was honored to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the state-of-the-art parking garage at O’Hare Airport’s International Terminal! As part of the AECOM Hunt Clayco Bowa Joint Venture, we’ve spent the past two years delivering this critical addition to O’Hare, designed to significantly enhance the passenger experience and streamline the travel journey for millions of visitors annually. Projects like this are more than infrastructure – they are investments in the future of Chicago’s global connectivity, economic growth, and community development. I’m proud of our team’s contribution to elevating travel standards while boosting widespread innovation and collaboration.
The O’Hare 21 modernization program is the largest terminal expansion in the airport’s history. It aims to grow its terminal square footage by over 60%, from 5.5 to 8.9 million square feet, and increase gate frontage by 25%. This historic initiative includes upgrades to Terminal 5, a complete redevelopment of Terminal 2 with a brand-new international arrivals facility, and extensive renovations to Terminals 1 and 3. Our talented teams are doing an excellent job of blending incredible architecture with human instinct to meet the demands of O’Hare’s ambitious vision.
Our AECOM Hunt Clayco Bowa JV is also dedicated to fostering diversity and inclusion at every level of the project. We’ve implemented processes and initiatives to exceed program goals, and we’re proud to be growing the capacity of local subcontractors while building a skilled workforce pipeline for future O’Hare and Chicago projects. Chicago is a global gateway, and this transformative development will impact travelers and businesses far beyond Illinois.
This project exemplifies what we at Clayco strive for: working with exceptional partners to leave a lasting and positive legacy. Thank you to everyone who has contributed their hard work and expertise to this remarkable achievement. We’re not just building terminals and parking garages – we are building the future of connection between O’Hare and the city of Chicago.
I look forward to the next chapters of this modernization!
